Keynote Speaker

Michael Blake is Professor of Philosophy, Public Policy, and Governance at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is jointly appointed to the Department of Philosophy and to the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs, and was the Director of UW’s Program on Values in Society until 2016. Blake was previously a faculty member at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government where he served as assistant professor of Public Policy and Philosophy, and held positions in the Center for Ethics and the Professions and the Carr Center for Human Rights. He is co-author of Debating Brain Drain: May Countries Restrict Emigration (OUP, 2015) and author of Justice and Foreign Policy (OUP, 2013), as well as numerous articles on migration and international justice.
